The Liebster Award!

With me being relativity new to active blogging, I hadn't even heard of the Liebster Award before, until I found myself being nominated for it! It's a great way of getting newer blogs a bit of an outing, and also allowing you to discover many more new blogs for yourself to! To be nominated for this, the blog has to have under 200 followers, and that's it! You then share 11 facts about yourself, answer 11 questions given by the person who nominated you (which for me was Kristy, thanks!) & then nominate 11 bloggers of your choice and then give them 11 of your own questions to answer. Easy enough!

Glossybox April 2014 Review! || bckysklly

This months Glossybox has been dubbed the 'Sweet Treats' edition, which led me to have high expectations for the contents I'd be getting inside, sadly for the fouth month running, I've been left slightly let down by my box!

First of all, MONU Spa Warming Ginger Massage and Body Oil which retails at £25 for 100ml, and it's a 25ml sample that you receive in the box. I can't ever see myself using this product, as I've never been a fan of oils, and although this is labeled as a ginger fragrance, all I can smell is lemon drizzle cake! I'll probably try this out at some point, but for the near future this is going to sit with all my other unused Glossybox products!

Next is the MeMeMe Cosmetics Beat the blues in shade Pearl Pink. You can see straight off that this is a dupe for Benefits High Beam, a product that I use whenever I want my make up to have that little more of an edge. The consistency of this is completely different to High Beam, as it is much thinner but I think this would make it much better for every day use as it gives a more subtle finish to the skin. It's also a little pink-ier when swatched, but there isn't much noticeable difference when applied. This retails at £5.50 and it is a full sized product that you get. This is probably my favourite product in the box and a great (and cheap!) alternative to High Beam!

The next product is the TRESemme Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo. This retails at £4.99 for 200ml and it's a travel sized 100ml that you get in the box. It's a little disapointing that you don't receive the full size of this, but it will be nice to try. Dry shampoo isn't something I use very often, as I wash my hair every day so I never really feel the need to have to freshen my hair up. I'm kind of put off by the smell of this as it smells exactly like TREsemme hairspray, and I think a dry shampoo should have a much fresher smell. I can see this is just going to sit on my dressing table for a while, but if it's still sitting there in August, I'm sure it will come in handy for Leeds Festival!

lo

This product is the one that has disappointed me most in the box. It's the Unica Cosmetics Radiance Plus. This is proof that there is no thought put into what products are being sent to each customer, as this is said to have 'a dramatic effect on fine lines & wrinkles' and at twenty years old, I don't think I'm going to need this yet! I felt the need to include two pictures of this, just to show the pitiful sample size that I was sent. This retails at £12.95 for 50ml and I was sent what I think is a 5ml sample. It smells awful and I know that this product is going to be thrown away and I'll probably use the tub for putting loose pigments in.

Last of all, is the second full size product in this box which is the EMITE MAKE UP Lip Brush - L312. I'm a tad skeptical about the £17 retail price that this have been given, as it's nowhere to be found online. I don't actually own a lip brush, as I always apply lipstick straight from the bullet so I'm definitely going to give it a try, I just wouldn't have ever dreamed of paying £17 for this!

Nothing in this months box has made me very excited, but I'm going to give Glossybox one last shot so I can redeem my Glossy dots for the May edition, which I'm hoping will be something special with it being the 3rd birthday box!
From looking at other reviews online, everyone has received exactly this month, with the slight change in a tube of fake tan for the anti-ageing cream, and no one else seems best pleased with this months selection.

Did you get anything different in your Glossybox this month? How did you feel about what you got? Let me know in the comments!

March Favourites! || bckysklly

So by the time I've actually posted this, it officially won't be March anymore, however it will be the early hours of April 1st, so I'm sure I'll get away with it!

So first up in my favourites this month is my much loved Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. When I first got this, I was a bit worried about how much I'd use it, as I'm a proper neutrals girl. However after watching a couple of YouTube tutorials using this, it's crept up to being my favorite out of the Naked trio! I'm definitely going to be doing a more in depth review of this as it has some gorgeous colours in!
Next is the lips! I'm a Mac lipstick hoarder and I have too many for having only one mouth! This month, my new addition to the family was from the limited edition Fantasy of Flowers collection, a shade called 'Snapdragon'. It's a lustre finish, which I haven't tried before, and is a gorgeous pinky/purple with blue tones. As this is part of a limited edition collection it won't be around much longer, but I do think some online stockists may still have this so snatch it up while you can! Another new lip favourite of mine is the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms and I bought these in the colours 'Audacious' and 'Elusive' and I absolutely love them! They have a lovely minty smell which makes you feel as if they're doing something good to your lips, probably not but it's a nice smell to sit under my nostrils all day ha! These also come in a high shine glossy lacquer as well, which is next on my list!
I've also recently stopped biting my nails (hallelujah!) so I've been splurging on lots of different nail polishes. My favourite I've purchased so far is one of the Barry M Gelly Range in the colour 'Blueberry'. The smell of this is a bit off putting but I can easily look past that thanks to the high shine glossy finish this gives my nails and it's such a gorgeous colour too!
And lastly, the face stuff! I always find myself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to finding a foundation I love, and I must of wasted hundreds of pounds doing this. I tend to find an amazing foundation and after a week my skin decides it doesn't want to embrace it anymore and it just reacts horribly with me. Fingers crossed that up to now Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 'Light Vanilla' has managed to survive this curse! It tends to last me throughout the day and doesn't feel too heavy on my skin, meaning it never goes horribly cakey like most other foundations do with my skin! This is my second month of using this daily and I still love it so hopefully I may have found my staple foundation at a bargain £10! Then comes my ultimate holy grail skin care product, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. This product is AMAZING. I suffer with quite bad skin whether it's spots or scarring from spots and this helps to combat both of those. It's about £15 a tube but you need to use the tiniest bit morning and night so it does last quite a long time. I love this product and have done for a while now so it's a definite must in my skin care routine.

And that's it for my favorites of March! I can't quite believe that's it's April already and that I'm going to be 21 in 6 little months! Does anyone else think that this year is disappearing stupidly quick?!

What have you favourites been this March? Are any the same as mine? Comment and let me know!

Re-Gen Cream Review || bckysklly

Hello!
So once again I've been really bad at keeping up to date with blog posts, however I've spent my last few days watching Zoella's Youtube back catalog and discovered this amazing product!

Re-Gen Cream is a multi-use skin care cream which boasts to moisture and improve the appearance of your skin and also help combat dry and blemished skin and also fade any signs of stretch marks or spot scarring!
I suffer really badly with spot scarring on my face due to having really bad skin from the age of fourteen onwards, especially on my forehead and chin! Over the years I've tried so many different methods to fade the horrible marks that have been left behind by this which has ended up me wasting silly amounts of money on products that don't work, and now I finally feel as if I've found the product that can help me!
I apply the cream morning and night and so far I've used it for around a week and I can already see a noticeable difference in my skin.

While I don't think that this product stops any breakouts, and I've never suffered from dry skin, this is definitely going to be a staple in my skin care routine until my skin is completely flawless (so I'm probably going to be purchasing this for the rest of my life). I'll probably post some progress pictures when I've used this for a little longer on how well this is working on my skin, and will hopefully get some amazing results!

Re-Gen Cream is £3.99 for a 125ml pot and you can purchase it from here!

Have you used this cream before? If so, how did it work for you? Let me know!

February Wishlist! || bckysklly

Ok, can someone just double check that I'm not dreaming about it being February already?! Although we're still full swing into the winter season, I'm already wanting to start preparing for spring! This topshop shirt is gorgeous and I'm love with the T-bar shoes so I think I'll definitely be purchasing these on payday! I also can't wait to try the AA Easy Jean/Topshop Joni Jean dupe from ASOS, I've read great things about these and they're meant to be much more flattering than the Joni jeans (which I love!). A new phone is DEFINITELY on the cards, after dropping my phone down the toilet, getting it to work again, and then cracking the back of it, I have zero luck with any technology! My make up love affair is still going strong, and Impassioned is the next on my make up hit list, which I think I might get with my empties using back to mac. I'm sure I don't need to explain why I want the ring...look at it!

What are you wanting to get you ready for break? Are you any better at controlling your make up addiction than me? Let me know!

Glossy box November 2013 || bckysklly

After a year of a life without Glossy box, I finally bit the bullet and subscribed again and I am seriously impressed with my first box!
Inside my box I received:
Vichy Idelia Life Serum - £29.50 for 30ml
Emite Make Up Micronized Eyeshadow in Dams - £16.80 for 1.48g
Yves Rocher France Hand Cream - £1.95 for 75ml
Elegant Touch Rapid Dry For Nails - £3 for 125ml
Scholl Dry Skin Exfoliator Skin Care - £4.49 for 60ml

Overall I feel like I've got a really good mixture of products this month which I'll get a lot of use out of. I've been looking for a pearly white eyeshadow for a while now and this one seems to be really pigmented so I'm really happy about getting this in my box.  The hand cream has a gorgeous raspberry smell and I already can't stop using it! I will definitely be purchasing this again when I've used it all, especially with it being so cheap! I also love the little Vichy testers as I love their dermablend concealer so I'm excited to try more of their products! I've not opened the dry skin exfoliator yet, but you can't really go wrong with soft feet can you?! The only product I'm disappointed with is the rapid nail drying spray, purely because I can't get out of the habit of biting my nails so it's pretty useless for me until I get a bit of willpower, but 4/5 ain't half bad!

Overall, I'm really impressed with Novembers Glossy Box and I'm already counting down the days for my December box to be delivered!

Did you get a Glossy Box this month? What do you think of the products you got inside? Let me know!

November Wishlist! || bckysklly

So as you'll be able to tell I've been extremely missing in action in my blogging habits lately! I've decided that since it's winter, and I'm going to be indoors wrapped up in numerous layers more than usual, I'm going to blog more as well!
I thought I'd start my 'big comeback' with all the things I'd like this month! I've recently started a new job and I've finally been able to buy things I've lusted after for ages so these items are definitely next on my hit list, and winter coming fast, do I really need a better excuse than to buy coats, boots and gorgeous thick jumpers?! I've also been bitten by the beauty bug lately, and seem to spend most of my money on cosmetics. I fell in love with the Urban Decay Naked 1 & 2 Palettes so I'd love to add some more Naked products to my collection!

Are you ready and wrapped for winter yet? Leave me comments and tell me what purchases you'd like to grab this season!
